Peter Bates is a drill writer, choreographer, and clinician for the pageantry arts based in American Fork, Utah. Peter marched five years (2013-2017) with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois, where he served as the 2016 trumpet section leader and the 2017 Horn Sergeant. He also performed his ageout playing cymbals with Matrix from Akron, Ohio in 2018.

Peter is currently the visual caption head and drill writer for the American Fork High School band, where he has taught since graduating in 2013. Peter is the video and lighting designer for Matrix Performing Arts, and a visual tech with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.

Peter is involved with the best marching ensembles in the state of Utah, including the American Fork High School Marching Band, the Mountain Ridge High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and Gold Spike Percussion
